Escofet is a famous company from Barcelona founded in 1886. Two years later it received a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Barcelona and, since 1916, has been supplying its home town with concrete elements of street architecture. Huge capabilities of this company are evidenced by the fact that, since 1996, it has been taking part in the construction of the Sagrada Familia basilica designed by Antoni Gaudi.
Escofet products made from architectural concrete or cast stone can enhance the urban space as well as the interior. These eye-catching, sculpture-like objects are simultaneously functional through and through – they include external seats, tables, benches, drinking water fountains, pots, as well as garden and urban lamps.
Escofet to this day manufactures hydraulic mosaic tiles designed by Gaudi himself. Delightful with its discreet charm, hexagonal Panot Gaudi were designed by the Catalan master in 1904. You can see Panot Gaudi tiles in Lipova Showroom.
Escofet products have been used in many shopping centres, underground railway stations, hotels and office buildings around the world. The company can boast special recognition on the part of architects and designers. The company’s designs have been jointly prepared by more than a hundred famous personalities, including Jean Nouvel, Helio Piñón, Arata Isozaki, David Chipperfield and Ricardo Bofill.
Escofet’s vast architectural experience enables an individual approach to be taken to each design and to supply even the most complex, custom-made structures.
