Afrika by SLIDE won the GOOD DESIGN ® Award: the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd honoured the collection created by Marcantonio with the prestigious award that recognises excellence and innovation in the design world. The collection, consisting of the Kroko and Big Kroko lounge seats and the Threebù elements, was awarded both for its innovative design and for the material in which it was presented.
In addition to the standard colours, in fact, the whole collection is made in bio-polyethylene, a special plastic that is derived from sugar cane and that already won the Archiproducts Sustainability Award in 2022.
Inspired by African art and culture and full of references to contemporary art and nature, with just the right dose of irony that bears Marcantonio’s unmistakable signature, Afrika has already won over our customers and continues to win the favour of the critics as well, as demonstrated by the awards it has already received.
