Actiu, the Spanish manufacturer of office furniture and one of our long-time partners, is celebrating its 50th birthday.
It all started from a small workshop in Alicante, founded by Actiu CEO, Vicente Berbegal. Throughout the subsequent decades, Berbegal developed the company on multiple levels – that’s why today Actiu has customers in over 70 countries around the world, also in Poland (the largest Actiu projects include PricewaterhouseCoopers headquarters in Warsaw and Brown Brothers Harriman headquarters in Cracow as well as Google offices in Warsaw and Cracow).
2008 saw the construction of Actiu Technology Park in the company hometown of Castalla (designed by Jose Maria Tomas Llavador), equipped with a roof fotovoltaic installation, which is the largest in Europe. It wholly covers the building’s energy needs. The project received numerous awards not only for architecture but also exemplary implementation of sustainable development (among others LEED® Gold Certificate, awarded by US Green Building Council.)
In the impressive technological park Actiu furniture collections are conceived. At the same time, it gives architects and investors a chance to order custom solutions. This week in Castalla there will be held a 3 day event celebrating the anniversary, together with partners and customers from around the world. Actiu prepared a video which tells not only about the company history but also demonstrates how our workspaces have changed throughout the years:
