Stockholm Furniture Fair is the biggest Scandinavian furniture fair. “Scandinavian design” has – similarly to Italian and Japanese – a clear, well-known identity. One can be sure that it will attract the attention of the industry and media.
The entire city lives design – during the fair also Stockholm Design Week takes place, with a varied programme of installations, varnishing-days and meetings. Our attention went to events organised by our partners (Bolon, Bla Station, Framery among others). One of the most interesting novelties were BAUX acoustic panels made from so called Acoustic Pulp – world’s first 100% biological material.
Traveling is always a good pretext for visiting places outside the official programme but nevertheless attracting with original concept or locaction. This time we chose Norrsken House: a coworking space founded by Niklas Adalberth (cofounder of Klarna). It’s unique in that startups which are based there are selected by a special foundation, with the selection criterion being public usefulness or, in other words, a potential for making the world a better place.
Coworking is also interesting with respect to arrangement – all current trends are here in plain sight: comprehenisve biophilia, mobility and modularity within the space.
