Since 1949, Bolon has woven sustainability into every design. Now, it moves forward with the next natural step with a new takeback initiative – Back2Bolon. With this initiative, your products are returned to Bolon’s factory in Sweden, recycled, and reborn as new rugs and floors.

Rugs and flooring installed without permanent adhesive can be returned to Bolon’s factory in Ulricehamn, where the material is recycled and transformed into new flooring. Since 2014, Bolon’s on-site recycling plant has uniquely positioned the company to make circularity a practical reality for architects, designers, and clients worldwide.

– Bolon has always been a family story built on responsibility and innovation. My grandparents started by weaving rugs from textile waste, and today we continue that legacy on a global stage. With Back2Bolon, we honour our heritage while looking forward, proving that design can be both beautiful and circular. This is about building trust for the future, one floor at a time, says Marie Eklund, co-owner and CEO.

– This is more than a project; it is a big step towards reducing our industry’s footprint. By returning and recycling old flooring and rugs in our factory, we close the loop on materials and avoid significant CO2 emissions compared to producing virgin resources. Every square meter that comes back to us represents a climate saving and a commitment to a more responsible way of designing and building, says Håkan Nordin, Head of Sustainability.

Bolon takes back all rugs and flooring installed with nonpermanent solutions from the EU and OECD countries. Rules vary between countries, but Bolon will guide you through the process.
