XXII Triennale in Milan is open until September 1. Exhibition “Broken Nature” (curator: Paola Antonelli) is a strong point of this year’s edition. We had the pleasure to see it during the annual Haworth distributors meeting. The exhibition is curated by Paola Antonelli who normally works for Museum of Modern Art in New York. In Milan, through 120 works from the fields of design and architecture, she explores various, also broken and distorted, relationships of humanity with nature. More about the exhibition in the video beneath. An interesting conversation with Antonelli can be found here.

The message of “Broken Nature” is terrifying, even though Antonelli stresses that she does not intend to shock anyone. – My goal is to make the wider audience realise that we live in crisis times. It’s also an encouragement to use our remaining time as good as possible. – says Antonelli.

Because if today it’s difficult to believe in a happy ending, we can always try to make the ending less pointless. Paola Antonelli believes that wise designers can help us achieve this end.
