share on FacebookConsolidation of old and new urban spaces – the 17th Conservation and Architecture Conference will be held on 19 and 20 November. The consolidation of urban spaces complements the theme of the previous conference, which was devoted to recomposition – understood as the initiation of city-forming processes. ‘Consolidation’ refers to their mature phase. Marro is a partner of the event.
Intervening in the historical fabric requires talent, design skills, knowledge, intuition and a unique ability to anticipate social and economic processes.
The aim of ‘consolidation’ is to achieve a mature form of the city – one that corresponds to the contemporary aspirations and ambitions of its inhabitants. It is a flexible form, capable of adapting to everything that has been done over the last centuries, and in some cases – such as in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Katowice and Szczecin – in just 70 years to restore urban life.
This year’s 17th edition of the Conference will be a venue for the presentation of the most inspiring architectural, urban planning and revitalisation investments from all over Poland. Under the slogan ‘Consolidation of urban spaces’, a discussion will be held on how to complement historic urban structures with contemporary architecture.
After a quarter of a century of free market development, Polish cities have reached a point where they should reclaim their form, proportions, shape, content, greenery, colour and splendour. It is a time to reflect on all elements of a mature urban structure – one that, in the right proportions and aesthetic temperature, builds relationships between the centre and its complement: the closer or more distant, peripheral area,” said Adam Czyżewski, co-organiser of the event.
The event is held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Academy of Fine Arts.
Please send your registration for the conference to: konferencje.trygon@gmail.com.
Speakers will include Tomek Rygalik, Przemo Łukasik and Przemysław Rechnio.
The conference will be held at the SARP pavilion at 2 Foksal Street in Warsaw.
