“Marro acoustically” is our series of presentations and workshops concerning acoustic comfort and, more broadly, biophilic design.

Among our experts was Halina Kamińska – designer and landscape architect, founder of Florabo studio. She specialises in plant cultivation in modern buildings. Basing on examples, she explained how to create an environment which increases working comfort in an office. She also told about R&D work concerning diagnostics and air filtration in offices, which she conducts since 2014 together with Warsaw Polytechnic.

Marcin Rosak, acoustician and multiinstrumentalist from the company Nyquista, started off his lecture with a quote by Julian Treasure: “Architects and designers usually focus on the visuals. It’s time to design also for our ears”. Marcin Rosak told about the role of acoustics in contemporary office spaces. He focused on optimal ways of arranging rooms with various functions. He also mentioned acoustic requirements with regards to applicable standards and legal regulations.

Finally, engineer architect Aleksandra Zalska surveyed the most interesting companies, furniture and solutions improving acoustic comfort in offices and other public spaces. The presentation was augmented by workshops conducted by Jerzy Herse (Nyquista) and the Florabo team.
