This year’s Warsaw Home Expo is set to have a record number of exhibitors, it’s also bound to be exceptionally inspiring due to one of the side events: Design Forum. Some of the most interesting designers, both Polish and international, will take part, e.g. Tom Dixon, Nika Zupanc or Mac Stopa.

The full list of appearances  is available at the organiser’s website. We would like to recommend appearances by those experts and personalities with whom we are connected at Marro. These are: Giulio Cappellini, creative director of the brand Cappellini, Ilkka Kaikuvuo, co-founder and head of R&D at Framery (more here) and Jonas Pettersson, CEO of the interdisciplinary project studio Form Us With Love.

The presence of Jonas Pettersson is connected to the Nest collection, designed by his FUWL studio for +Halle. We invite you to see it in person (hall F, stand F4.15).

The collection is a result of observations focused on human behaviour in open public spaces, especially offices. The designers saw a need for a new type of meeting spaces: less formal, providing a greater freedom of choice of how we want to partake in them. – We have compared behaviours in scenarios involving standard height furniture and bar stools. Instead of opposing them, we combined them in a coherent whole – says John Lofgren, creative director of FUWL.

The collection is composed of sofas, tables and chairs with different heights (standard and heightened, “bar” version). Two height options – it’s enough to create dynamic settings. For example, it’s possible to sit or stand, with eye contact between people remaining natural.

Nest is also characterised by a distinctive heightened backrest which “surrounds” the sitting person. In this way, it increases the feeling of coziness irrespectively of what’s happening outside. The backrest gives a freedom to select a sitting position: classical, typical for official meetings, as well as a casual, natural one, more fitting during less formal interactions.

This kind of furniture helps maintain individuality in a diverse group of people. They give a sense of freedom and create a good environment for fostering new forms of human interactions and cooperation. We will show them during Warsaw Home Expo 2018 (hall F, stand 4.15). Jonas Pettersson, CEO at Form Us With Love, the studio which designed the Nest collection, will be a special guest at the event.
