Homa 104 Chair by 366 Concept. Ergonomics in a Sculptural Form
“A good chair is the result of many years of trial and error,” said Edmund Homa. An architect, interior and industrial designer, and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, he lived from 1927 to 2017. He became famous as one of Poland's most distinctive furniture designers. HAY introduces the Deville Collection, a contemporary take on the classic bistro set by French designer Julien Renault. The collection takes inspiration from the spirit and aesthetics of iconic 1920s Thonet chairs, after a trip to a restaurant in his hometown of Brussels. 'I have always loved the atmosphere of this place, and the simplicity of the set tables and their wooden chairs,' says Renault. 'Reinterpreting the bistro chair through the use of aluminum seemed like an interesting starting point.'
